Robyn Chavez received this very special award and honored on Feb. 21, 2025 at our annual awards ceremony in front of 400+ hospice professionals.
“As a young professional in Taos, Robyn is a rising star. She truly exemplifies Red Willow Hospice’s mission for maintaining a holistic, progressive, and integrative approach to hospice care. With her whole-person care approach, Robyn was able to obtain a partnership with a local non-profit that allows utilization of integrative modalities such as a naturopathic doctor, massage therapy, Reiki, and an end-of-life doula. Robyn strives to serve the community with distinction by recognizing and honoring the diverse cultures and backgrounds of Northern NM. Robyn’s community-based approach is firmly rooted in inclusivity and responsiveness, ensuring that forward-thinking care is accessible to everyone. Robyn was a key implementer in guiding Taos Pueblo Foundation’s Board to develop and launch its first open, competitive grantmaking cycle in service to Taos Pueblo. Not only did Robyn curate the application development and funding guidelines to launch a $10,000 grant award, but she also helped secure a $5,000 LOR Foundation grant to launch an initiative focused on helping over 60 elders stay warm during the winter months by subsidizing the cost of electricity, a main source of heat, for two months. As a generational Northern New Mexican, Robyn epitomizes the values of charity, community, and compassion. I believe that Robyn’s values make their way to the patient’s bedside, yielding exceptional patient and community outcomes. In summation, Robyn shines a bright light on the importance of a hospice provider’s devotion to the local community.” – Justin Babin, COO of Red Willow Hospice
