Taught from leading Chaplain experts, our training is appropriate for Hospice Chaplains or any Chaplain seeking to help support end-of-life patients/families/caregivers.
The purpose of this education activity is to enhance the knowledge of the Chaplain in the area of end of life & palliative care by addressing excellence in hospice services, standards and ethical practices in an effort to promote quality, compassionate care for the terminally ill and their families as evidenced by participant post-test scores & course evaluations.
Chaplains often have received little training specific to care of the dying or working in an Interdisciplinary Clinical Team. TNMHPO hosts a “Chaplain’s Development Committee” (CDC) to dialogue with medical professionals and hospice chaplains, conduct surveys of administrators and of chaplains, and to research the needs for improving spiritual care of the hospice chaplain.
In response to the identified needs and concerns, the CDC developed these trainings. These specialized topics will focus on the needs particular to Hospice Chaplains and the Spiritual Care of the dying.
